The significant reduction in dental caries seen in some countries, can in part be attributed to the wide spread use of toothpaste containing fluoride. A large amount of research has been conducted on fluoride containing products. Data from some of these studies shows that the continuing presence of fluoride in the oral cavity effectively helps protect against caries development. This indicates the importance of using fluoride containing products at home on a regular basis. Dentists and hygienists should encourage patients to use a fluoride toothpaste and other fluoride containing products where appropriate.

Brush with PROSPEC tooth paste. Apply Prospec Geltect to the surface of all teeth using a tooth brush. Make sure the Geltect covers all the surfaces of each tooth. Leave the Geltect in the mouth for 30 mins.

Paste containing 0.2% sodium fluoride (fluorine 900ppm), chlorhexidine hydrochloride (bactericidal action), Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate (anti-inflammatory action), and xylitol

Gel contains 0.4% stannous fluoride (970ppm). The gel allows the fluoride to remain in close contact with the surface of the tooth longer than other types of fluoride rinses or liquids.
