CASE1

・Caries lesion in proximal surface only
・Active caries progressing to open cavitation
・Cleaning is difficult due to location
Cavity preparation with minimal intervention
・Removal of infected tooth structure from proximal surface to preserve marginal ridge
Restoration by fluoride releasing materials

・By using fluoride releasing materials, improved remineralisation and stronger tooth structure around the cavitated lesion can be expected.
Continuing maintenance

・Observation and maintenance by periodical recall
・Ongoing preventive therapy, both in office and at home, with regular review.

CASE2

・Small fracture of anterior tooth restoration
・Unacceptable esthetics
Cavity preparation with minimal intervention
・Remove fractured portion
Restoration by fluoride releasing materials
・Place fluoride releasing low viscosity composite resin (Unifil Flow) and light cure, in small increments.
Continuing maintenance
9 years after restoration.
With good control the tooth remains healthy.
