Bactericidal use of topical fluoride in the dental office In-office application of topical fluorides has been practiced routinely in dental clinics for many years for the purpose of strengthening and remineralisation of teeth. Recently some new applications for topical fluorides have been developed. One of them, the application of stannous fluoride, provides not only for the strengthening and remineralization of teeth, but also has been shown to be bactericidal with little hazardous effect. According to Dr. Hanada, stannous fluoride is a most promising therapeutic substance for use in the 3DS ( Dental Drug Delivery System). 3DS is the dental equivalent of the Medical Drug Delivery System, whereby drugs are delivered to organs and tissues efficiently and stay in place to continue working for sometime.

Pit & fissure sealants play an important role in tooth protection The first permanent molar takes a longer time from eruption to being in full occlusion than other teeth. Combined with this fact and the position of the tooth at the back of a small mouth, it is more likely to be at risk of developing dental caries.
